Pushkar, an ancient city in Rajasthan, is home to one of a handful of Brahma temples in the world.
Located in Ajmer district, the town is also known as
Tirth Raj - the king of pilgrim sites – and is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.
Legend has it that Lord Brahma dropped a blue lotus flower to earth while performing a
mahayagna, and the place where the flower fell came to be named Pushkar, the Sanskrit name for ‘blue lotus’.
Also known for the popular Pushkar camel fair, this town attracts tourists from all over the world for its vibrant spiritual ambience.

Siddharth Setia, a Gurgaon (now Gurugram) based photographer, has captured the winding lanes and colourful sights of Pushkar in a fascinating photo series.
“People like to collect souvenirs from the places they visit. I like to collect portraits of people from the places I travel to. I am working on my long term photo project 'Faces of India', which I would like to exhibit on a global level one day,” says Siddharth.
