Video: How The Lost Tigers of Alwar’s Sariska Made a ‘Royal’ Comeback

India has risen to the call of the fast-declining tiger population. The majestic creature is not just the pride of Indian forests but is also a critical part of the ecosystem—from the Himalayas to the Nilgiris.

Rajasthan is one of the states in India that is home to a large tiger population. Forests in Sawai Madhopur, Mount Abu, and Alwar, have the necessary natural conditions which are suitable for a healthy tiger population.

Unfortunately, tigers in these forests are not completely immune to poaching. As it turns out, they were tragically vulnerable.

When a probe conducted by the CBI declared that Sariska did not have any tigers left, the forest officials of the area took up the responsibility to repopulate the reserve with tigers.
